Liz Stoddard

I found yoga while parenting two toddlers and I just needed a break. The opportunity to step onto my mat and focus on connecting my breath to movement was just the break I needed. While my yoga practice wasn’t consistent, something kept pulling me back to my mat. Fast forward 15 years, those toddlers had grown up and graduated and I was still trying to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. After practicing yoga in cities around the world, I landed in a yoga teacher training at Lotus Living Arts Studio in downtown Concord, where I completed my 200 hour certification in 2018. I have since completed certifications in Aerial Yoga and Yin Yoga and I am working on a 500 hour certification through Yoga Medicine. Yoga offers me a way to connect with people and help them discover the infinite potential their bodies hold for movement, energy, and life long connections.

I started practicing yoga in 2004. As an often injured runner I was seeking a way to improve my back health. I certainly found that fix and a lot more. As a competitive runner I was drawn to the physicality of a strong vinyasa flow and the sweaty peace of savasana at the finish. As a continuation of this path, I jumped into yoga teacher training at Yoga One in Charlotte in 2010. It was there that I began to tap into the power that yoga has to create a framework within which to live a good and vital life. Since then, I’ve taught in several studios, schools, breweries, and gyms. I believe in the infinite power of yoga to build community and to make positive changes inside and among us all. I live in downtown Concord with my wife Carolyn and our two rescue pit bulls. We have two adult children - Carson and Caroline - who live in Raleigh and Charlotte.
